  • Prenatal and Postpartum Depression

    Depression during pregnancy and postpartum is common, you are not alone. Are you feeling sadness, anger, guilt, overwhelm or persistent irritation? Have you had thoughts of harming yourself or taking your life? Does each day feel too heavy to manage, with too much to do and not nearly enough energy to do it? Talking about these difficult feelings and thoughts can help.

    If you’re struggling with how to support your child or teen with their mental health struggles, let’s talk. Managing emotion dysregulation, anxiety and depression is challenging. We can discuss your unique family struggles and practice skills to encourage change, and make things feel more manageable. Consultation services available for children under 12, with potential for home visits depending on location.

  • Prenatal and Postpartum Anxiety

    Feelings of intense worry, panic or ongoing fear of the future are common experiences with postpartum anxiety. Are you preoccupied with worried thoughts about your future, or your baby’s safety?     Partners can also experience depression and anxiety during the pregnancy stage and following the birth.     If you experienced a traumatic birth you may be unsure how to move forward. Recovering from an unexpected trauma is destabilizing and complex. Let’s talk about moving through this experience in a compassionate and respectful way that maintains connection and fosters support. It can be helpful to talk about your experience and feelings to find healing.

    Are you struggling to conceive? Perhaps you’ve experienced miscarriage, unsuccessful IVF or have been trying to get pregnant yet have been unable to. Infertility impacts your mental health in many ways- you may have noticed difficulty managing your emotions, communicating your feelings or expressing yourself. Parenting roles have been impacted in unprecedented ways. Research looking at the mental health impact on mothering in the pandemic indicates rates of anxiety and depression are rising. As parents we are trying to be everything to everyone, and losing our balance in the process.
